The holidays are officially in full swing here! We had a socially distanced Halloween that included pumpkin carving and a candy filled piñata with a few of our closest friends and are planning an equally as small Thanksgiving.

Tomato Risotto

Late summer/early fall is here and the tomatoes are plentiful! We don’t have as much of a large garden as we have in the past but we still snuck in a few tomato plants amongst our herbs and a few jalapeños. This recipe I tried last summer and it’s just so good with all those fresh ingredients. If you aren’t growing your own, like us, you can always skip down to your local farmers market or even a lot of grocery stores sell local fresh this time of year! But hurry quick tomato season is always plentiful but over in a flash!

I love summer time. You can easily whip up a big batch of pasta salad and bring it to the beach, a BBQ or just keep it in the fridge to pick at all week. Eat it for lunch alone or on the side with something off the grill at dinner.
Dining Room Makeover Phase 1
When we bought our home in October I had so many visions for it. One of the main priorities I had was to get the dining room set up for entertaining over the holidays.
Now of course, I love our house. So many old colonial details in the molding and floors, sconces, but the previous owners seems to love one thing I don’t….Blue. The baby blue molding in the dining room was killing me. There were some interesting color choices in other areas of the house, like the lime green half bath and a few others, but I could live with those. In fact, I still do for the most part. But this blue in a dining room. I just could not. I SHALL NOT. And luckily, I didn’t.

Summer is finally in full swing and it is my favorite part of the year! The part where everything we’ve been patiently growing since the spring is ready to harvest! Of course, this year we don’t have our massive vegetable garden going yet. With the new house, we just have too much to do to get the yard and house in order before we start carving out a plot for Brett’s inevitably massive vegetable garden. Continue reading
